William L. Schwegler


Bill Schwegler passed on Friday, June 9, 2023 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Mr. Schwegler was in failing health. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Bill’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Mr. Schwegler was born on August 10, 1943, to Leslie Lewis Schwegler and the former Ruby Nadine Clark in Maries County, Missouri. He was married on September 11, 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri to Judy Ann Warren. A member of the Price Rd. Church of Christ, in Brownsville, Texas, he had been a retiree in the community of Mission, Texas. He worked for General Motors for over 36 years. Bill also served in the Missouri Air National Guard for 25 years. He was baptized into Christ, was an active, working member of the Church of Christ everywhere he lived and had served as an elder. He loved preaching and teaching gospel and was active in online ministry throughout his retirement. He also enjoyed genealogy, reading, gardening, and hunting.

Bill is survived by his wife Judy A. Schwegler of Mission, Texas. and son, Jason B. Schwegler and wife Shannon of Grand Blanc, Michigan; three grandchildren, Ethan, Kathryn and Johnathan Schwegler; brother Buel L. Schwegler and wife Jane of Waynesville, Missouri; niece, Jennifer Hall and husband Brandon of Dixon, Missouri, nephew Daniel Schwegler of Waynesville, and many other relatives and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Stephanie Dawn Rigney.
