Todd Elliott Dawson

Age 63, of Linden, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Todd’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Todd Elliott Dawson was one of a set of identical twins born on January 7, 1962, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Max and Irene (Hill) Dawson. Todd graduated from Bothell High School, Bothell, Washington, in 1980. He also attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Todd enjoyed working at the Silver Birch Ranch in White Lake, Wisconsin, a Christian, Gospel centered ministry for youth and families. He worked for many years at Bordines and, lastly, at Penske Logistics, where he retired on disability in 2017. Todd married Becky (Varner) Dawson on April 29, 1995. We spent 30 wonderful years together before his passing. We loved camping with friends and going up north, especially to Mackinaw. Over the years, Todd loved animals, especially our dogs: Andy, Bella, Bailey, and our most recent rescue, Walter. Todd was an avid Michigan, Lions, and Tigers fan, as well as a major NASCAR fan. Todd valued his friendships with co-workers, neighbors, church family, extended family, and his special friend, Sam Lazar.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Becky, siblings Sheila Mushkin and Troy, in-laws Mike and Renee Varner, brother-in-law Mike Varner Jr., and his fiancée Denise Gibson, as well as nephews and nieces Nick, Brandon, Allie, Ronnie, Courtney, and Erika.

Todd was preceded in death by his parents, Max (Gene) and Irene (Hill) Dawson. Grandparents.

Many heartfelt thanks to all of the medical professionals who showed Todd such respect and loving care.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. Visitation will begin at noon in the main clubhouse. Location: Shiawassee Shores Retirement Park, 1515 W Rolston Rd, Linden, MI 48451. Service officiated by Rev. Bruce Garner.

Becky, Merryl and I are so very sorry for your loss and also for Troy. The comfort we have is he is resting in glory now and we will all be reunited one day. We have many fond memories of him and his kind nature. I recall visits to our house and him spending time talking with us about many things including you. Merryl was honored to be in your wedding party. Hugs and prayers for peace for you. Love you and hope we can see you when you head over to this side of the state.

The passing of a loved one is never easy to grasp. Becky and I through work began a lifelong friendship. When life separated us, we continued to enjoy our telephone conversations and Michigan visits.

Even though I did not know Todd as I do you, I know he was important part of your life.

    My condolences, thoughts and prayers.
