Timothy Michael Couchman

Age 66, of White Lake, passed away on Saturday May 16, 2026. In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place, with a gravesite burial and Celebration Of Life being planned for this summer. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Tim’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Tim loved everyone. Tim especially enjoyed spending time with his family at gatherings, socializing, taking pictures, and spoiling his dogs every chance he had. He was an avid landscaper and enjoyed working in his gardens, as well as others for his job.

Tim graduated from Dexter High School in 1978 and soon had his two sons, Robert in 1981 and Daniel in 1983. Tim married Jill Petroit (proceeded in death 2004) before finding his life-long partner Ron in 1994. The two built a life together with their mutual love of animals and close nit family. They enjoyed trips to Michigan’s western coastline exploring lighthouses and the beach, shopping, going to craft sales, spending time with their grandchildren and raising many dogs and cats together. Tim was compassionate, he made time for everyone and truly cared.

Left to cherish his memory is his soulmate, Ron; his sons, Rob and Dan; his brothers, Jerry (Wendy), Joe (Rhonda); his sisters, Lisa (Carrie), Angie (Chuck); his grandchildren, Makenzie, Alexandra, Chase, Kole, and Everleigh; and his aunt Joyce, who was a huge part of Tim’s life and happiness. Also grieving are many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Tim had a lot of lifelong friends and co-workers the family would like to thank for their support and friendship. Tim’s animals were family to him…over the years many great times and memories were cherished with his dogs, Hannah, Chelsea, Megan, Bailey, Casey, Nessie; and his cats Joe and Jack.

Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Jean in 2015; and his father, Joseph in 2016.

Left is his legacy of of being an amazing father, brother, and friend. Tim didn’t care about how he knew you or where you came from, he just wanted to know you and draw some kind of joy from his time with you. He was compassionate, supportive, stubborn at times, but only because he wanted to make the best out of everything. We will miss his quick smile, his slight hand waves, and his soft welcoming demeanor.

In lieu of flowers, Tim requested donations to be made to your local pet shelter or the Humane Society of Michigan.

May he rest in peace and remain always in our hearts.
