Susan Long

Susan Long, of Clio, age 75 died Sunday, February 15, 2026 in Burton, Michigan. With respect, and honoring her wishes, no funeral services will be held. Family and friends will be gathering at a later date to honor her memory and life.

Susan, “Suzie” as she was known by most people, was born in Flint, Michigan on February 23, 1950, the daughter of Edward B. and Mary Lorraine (Bonno) Long. She graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1968. Although she lived and worked in Flint most of her life, she also lived in Houghton Lake and Indian River in northern Michigan. She retired from Venture Industries and continued to spend her time enjoying her family, friends, past co-workers, and her beloved dog and companion, Toby. Suzie enjoyed many different interests and activities throughout her life, which included playing in pool leagues, playing cards and bingo, listening to music, taking boat rides, playing a competitive yet friendly game of Scrabble, dog sitting, eating coney dogs and fish and chips with friends and family, and, of course, playing, watching, and talking about sports. She had a lot of “favorite teams”, but nothing compared to her love and passion for the Detroit Tigers. An avid and loyal fan her entire life, she will always be remembered as such by her friends and family through that shared connection.

Suzie is survived by her siblings, Edward (Diana) Long, Jr., Thomas (John Cartier) Long; sister-in-law Donna Long; nieces and nephews, John, Tina, Becky, Amy, Matthew, Adam, Ryan, and Eric; her many great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; many beloved friends.

Suzie was preceded in death by parents Edward, Sr. and Lorraine Long; siblings, John (Christa) Elford, Kay (Edward) Daniel, Jack Long, Danny Long; close friend Sue Bolger.

The family would like to thank LaVigne Home Hospice for their care and compassion during Suzie’s illness.

Suzie’s obituary was written by her loving family.
