Stanley George Maciag
Stanley George Maciag, of Goodrich, Michigan, Age 81, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026. In accordance with his wishes, a cremation will take place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Stanley’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
Stanley George Maciag was born on February 22, 1944, in Goodrich, Michigan, loving husband to Neta (Hock) Maciag for over 64 years. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley and Tressie (Heatherington) Maciag. Retired Skilled Trades (Machine Repairman) at General Motors – Pontiac Motor Division for over 41 years. He spent his retirement years enjoying gardening and grooming his Goodrich homestead with a smile and wave for all that passed by.
Devoted Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather to Chris (Theresa) Maciag, Josephine (Allan) Warden, Kathy (Brian) Beard, Tracy (Karl) Hanisch and 13 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren left to cherish their many memories of him.
The entire family remains eternally grateful for the friendships that have grown out of Stanley’s simple smile and a wave.

I was a classmate. I always called him Stan, when we conversed. He was always respectful, respectable and pleasant. He evoked wisdom, strength, and maturity beyond his years.

Dear Neta and family. Joy and I were saddened to hear of Stan’s passing. We would always see him working in the yard when we drove past. He always gave a friendly wave. Many times I would stop and we would talk for a while, usually while still parked in the road.
Neta and family, I am so sorry for your loss! I always looked up to You and George! I am praying for your peace and comfort.
