Scott Anthony Goetz

Age 59, of Grand Blanc, passed away on February 7, 2024.

Scott was born on September 9, 1964, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Sandra (Horner) Goetz.

Scott was a complex individual with a big heart and protective nature. His personality never left him short of attention. With his compassion for others, he always kept his siblings safe and protected while making them laugh in his dramatic presence.

Through his witty intelligence he could outshine anyone in the room, and his energy radiated through his art. At an early age, music became his love and passion, leading him to become a self-taught master of the electric, acoustic, and bass guitar. He was a gifted musician that had the ability to play these Aid Kids and found his true passion, solace, and solitude in music. He always spent countless hours jamming with friends and attending metal concerts, including those at The Machine Shop with a few of his brothers. Scott always had his guitar nearby.

Apart from music, culinary creations were another passion of his, and like music, he excelled to become a expert in this field. Later in life he discovered a love of painting and created more masterpieces than we could keep up with.

Scott held many positions in his life, with the last being with the family-owned business, WGS Global Services, LLC (WGS). Over the years, Scott’s performance of his duties was instrumental in WGS’s successes and growth. He earned awards in manufacturing and accolades from various customers. He was a dedicated and hardworking man. He enjoyed representing the family business by repeatedly participating in the American Foundry Society Golf outings, Back to the Bricks and Woodward cruising muscle car events.

Family meant everything to Scott and not much more really mattered to him. He loved his family immensely.  He was most proud of his son Jordan who has established himself as a devoted Father and Husband and a success in manufacturing. A day never passed that Scott didn’t cherish watching him grow into the man he is today. If there was ever anything you could count on, it was that Scott was around and if you needed it, he would give you the shirt off his back.

Scott is survived by: His Son Jordan, daughter-in-law Alyssa, and his three grandchildren: Landon, Bentley, and Hudson. He is also survived by his mother, Sandra Pope, his brothers: Joe, Pat (Amy), Chris (Michelle), Charlie (Nicole), Carter (Cassie) Goetz, his sisters: Jennifer (Roger) and Anna (Orlando), and his stepmother, Hilary Goetz. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Scott is preceded in death by his father; William Goetz, and Stepfather; Daniel Pope, His Brother; John Anderson, and his Sister-in-Law; Katherine Goetz.

In honor of Scott’s wishes, a Gift of Life donation was made, and cremation took place. Arrangements were entrusted to the Detroit Cremation Society, and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Scott’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Scott will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. May they find comfort in the memories of the vibrant and passionate individual he was.
