Rose Marie Valentine


Age 67, of Ortonville, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Ascension Genesys with family by her side. To honor her wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Rose’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Rose Marie Valentine was born on September 2, 1955, in Pontiac, Michigan. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar and Betty (Terry) Betts. Rose loved spending time with her family and her dog, Val. She grew up riding and showing horses. She also enjoyed gardening, baking desserts, and watching the Lions games.

Rose is survived by her two sons; Jacob (Megan) Valentine and William (Leslie) Lambert, her daughter; Felicia Profitt, her brother; Eddie Betts, her mother; Betty Betts, and her seven grandchildren; Trevor, Britany, Tori, Kaia, Peyton, Calvin, and Conrad.

Rose is preceded in death by her late husband; Dennis Valentine, her brother; Donald Betts, and her father; Edgar Betts.

Rose’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Deer Lake Athletic Club and Banquet Center, located at 6167 White Lake Road, Clarkston, Michigan 48346.

Rose’s obituary was written by her loving family.

    Goodbye Mom, I hope you are free from pain and relaxing peacefully. Growing up, I remember watching you do your makeup and hair and thinking you were the most beautiful woman in the world! You shined with such a bright light.

    I grew up side by side with you, Rosie. It was always you and I celebrating our Birthdays together every year . We went to a lot of concerts together Elo , Bob Seager, Eddie Money. You name it we saw it. The last words you said to me is that you didn’t think you were going to make it and then you said that we really had some great times together. I said did we ever . Rest in peace Rosie love you always.

    Mom I love and miss you already. You were right in telling how people are. I think about you everyday and always will.
    Don’t worry about Grandma and Eddie I will do my best to take care of them if they need anything. So I guess what I am saying is I will see you on the other side when ever that may be.

    Rosie, you will always be with me. To you, I was Toots, we were always more like sisters than cousins. We had so much fun together growing up. I love you and I know we will be together again. ❤️
