Roberta Claire Tinder Tuck
Roberta died at Springvale Assisted Living at age 93 in Hospice care April 25, 2024. Her remains will be interred with her husband’s at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly MI. A private memorial service will be celebrated at a later date.
Roberta was the epitome of a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Born in Lapeer MI to Jean Kenneth Tinder and Waneta Scoles Tinder in 1930, she lived most of her life in Flint and Davison MI.
She graduated from Flint Central High School, attended Hurley Nursing School until her marriage to Glen E Tuck in 1950. She also worked at the main branch of the Flint Public Library until she started her family. They were happily married for 69 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister; Shirley Smiddy, and her brother; John Tinder.
She had three children Laura Tuck VanAntwerp (Howell), Janice Tuck Brown (Swartz Creek), and Rich Tuck (Fenton). She golfed, bowled, and played tennis among other activities.
Roberta attended and sang in the choir of Central Methodist Church for many years and eventually attended Woodside Nondenominational Church. Her voice was lovely. She was a voracious reader. She was a Red Cross Blood Drive volunteer. She enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her children and grandchildren as well as friends. Always sweet, fun, and funny she was well read and well informed, open to new ideas and opportunities. She remained very healthy until succumbing to dementia.
She is survived by children; Rich and Julie Lewis Tuck, Jan and Ron Brown, Laura and Terry VanAntwerp, sister; Susan Tinder Edwards, grandchildren; Aaron and Jazmine Tuck, Jordan Tuck, Brianna (Brown) and Michael Salling, Aimee (Brown) and Jason Trace, Adam VanAntwerp, Darby (Van Antwerp) and Trey Litz, as well as her great-grandchildren; Ruby Tuck, Jacqueline, Everett, and Isaac Salling, Wyatt and Brody Litz, Brooklyn and Addison Trace.
