Robert M. Herrmann


Age 66, of Grand Blanc, passed away suddenly, at his home on Friday, December 10, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am, Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Church of the Holy Family in Grand Blanc with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Bob’s family will be present to receive friends at Martin Funeral Home’s, Detroit Cremation Society, 8253 S. Saginaw St. in Grand Blanc, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday. On Thursday evening, family, friend and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm followed afterward by a Knights of Columbus Service and 4th Degree Chalice Ceremony conducted by the KofC Council #6742 and the MSGR Patrick Dunigan Assembly #510. On Friday morning, Bob will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Toys for Tots. Robert was born May 18, 1955 the son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. and Donna B. (Guinther) Herrmann. Bob and Patricia Erickson were united in marriage on September 1, 1978, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2021. Educated locally, Bob graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, and would go on to attend Mott Community College and the University of Oklahoma. His career path would lead him to General Motors, where he worked for Buick Motors until his retirement and then worked for Toyota for many years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc and was currently the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #6742 and was also a member of the MSGR Patrick Dunigan Assembly #510.

Left to cherish his memory are: children: Christopher Robert and wife, Bets, Thomas Michael, and Jacob Patrick and wife, Andee; grandchildren: Christopher Andrew, Whitlee J, brother, Joe Herrmann and wife, Beth, and Mark Joslin, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Patricia.
