Val and Mark, and the entire Duerr family, I am very sorry for your loss. Although I haven’t seen Uncle Dick in years, I do remember his gentleness and warmth, how he helped me overcome my fear of his German Shepherd, and memories of Long Lake. May he rest in sweet peace.

I have wonderful memories of Dick Duerr, a great friend and a great gentleman. My husband Bill and I enjoyed our friendship that started in Lyndhurst, NJ back in the 1950’s. We had a wonderful group of friends who stayed in touch through a lifetime of family adventures. My thoughts go out to Val, Mark and all his family and friends.

    Dear Duerr Clan,
My sincere condolences to you. Dick will definitely be missed. I remember him telling me how much he loved to come to Long Lake in the summer to get a balance in life and a reality check from “the la la land at the Villages.”
I will continue to look at his camp’s porch as I swim and paddle by, remembering his waving and smiling in his friendly way.
