Randy Remi Couture
Randy Remi Couture, age 70, of Holly, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 after a four-year battle with cancer. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Randy’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
Randy was born on October 1, 1954, in Wyandotte, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse and Janette (Ouellette) Couture.
Left to cherish his memory are Cynthia (Fellman), his wife of 29 years, children Christopher (fiancée Amanda), Brian (Nicole), and Janette (David) Todd. He was the proud Pepe to Cassidy, Connor, Chase, Ella, Eastyn and (soon to be) Adalyn.
Randy was the third of five children – brothers Daniel Couture (Sandy) and Douglas Couture (Gail) came before him and sisters Denise Beleutz (Stephan Nolet) and Karen (Gerard) Mackinnon came after. He had many nieces and nephews, who will miss Uncle Randy’s humor and love of family.
One of Randy’s greatest achievements was introducing his wife to outdoor sports and the two enjoyed many trips together for elk, moose, deer, bear, and fishing. Randy believed in having adventures and he travelled all over the US and Canada with his wife, friends and family on various hunting, fishing and sight-seeing adventures. He especially loved the Bob Marshall Wilderness of Montana and fishing in the Florida Keys. Highlights included trips to Costa Rica for marlin and to Prince Edward Island where Randy landed a 550-pound bluefin tuna. But he was just as at-home in the Great Lakes fishing for salmon (which he hated eating), perch and walleye.
But his favorite activity was having his family around as they hunted up north at the cottage, enjoying sitting around a campfire and telling jokes and stories. Finding game trails, clearing the perfect shooting lane and then erecting blinds and tree stands for the hunt brought him great pleasure.
Randy owned a construction business, spending the last 25 years specializing in building and remodeling restaurants with his partner, Brian Neighbor. If you have eaten at a Big Boy restaurant in Michigan, it is likely he and Brian either built or remodeled it, often multiple times.
A celebration of life and adventures will take place at a date and time to be determined. Please direct any memorial donations to Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers so children, young adults and veterans with life-altering illnesses and disabilities can enjoy the great outdoors as much as he did.

Cousin Randy was always one to keep the family gatherings “laughing”.
He would often call my mom, Aunt Lou, and she had said, “oh that Randy such a gentle bear and always makes me laugh”.
Our sympathies to Cynthia and family.

Randy was my best friend since we meet in 3rd grade. For the 62 years I knew him we never had a cross word. Best man at my wedding and godfather to my son. I have nothing but fond memories and a million laughs of you my friend. I’m sure you and Ted are already telling each other stories about your hunts together.
I will dearly miss you buddy. Until we meet again…
I believe Randy and Cynthia’s first “date” was at the rifle range. I was there as the chaperone. I guess it worked out. They had many good years together and lots of good hunting trips. So, now he is in the Happy Hunting Grounds. Take care big guy.
60+ years, so many laughs, so many memories. Euchre with Randy was just joy, he played by “Canadian Rules”….according to him when he called trump I was supposed to take 2 tricks. 🤨 Our last euchre match in Alpena was epic….we laughed so hard we cried. I will miss you Randy, peace to you.
From my daughter Leah…. i’ll always remember his laugh and him being larger than life at every party he threw ❤️
Randy was a magnanimous guy with a larger-than-life personality and generous nature. He made everyone laugh with his jokes and stories, and although he loved to tease me, he was always kind. Even though circumstances prevented recent visits with Cynthia and Randy, I will always have fond memories of him.
Randy was a wonderful funny guy. I’ve have the pleasure of meeting him several time over the years and he was never short on great conversation and great laughs. My condolences to the entire family.
Randy lit up a room when he walked into it. His sense of humor and laughter was very contagious. ❤️ I am grateful for so many wonderful memories with him and his family. From multiple family vacations, swimming and boating at the lake, and spending countless weekends up north at our family cabin. He will be missed dearly. I will always cherish my childhood memories and the wonderful friend he was to my Dad. Rest in Peace, Randy. Sending love to all of his family and friends.
