Phyllis Beifuss

Age 100, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away on April 21, 2024, after a brief illness, surrounded by her five children. Beloved by Jeff and Jean Beifuss; Jon and Rose Beifuss, their children Jude and Lucy; Brandon and Jessica Beifuss; Melissa Beifuss; Amy and Gordon Phillips; Jesse and Eric Beauregard, their children Luke and Leni; Doug Beifuss and Cory Beifuss, Julie Peters, Zach and Hailey Peters, daughter Stella; Ally and Mike Jacob, daughter Cove; Leah Peters; Cary and Steve Bernstein, Phil Bernstein and Olivia Villasenor; Phyllis’ sister Marcia and Larry Stanton, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her long-term partner, Pete Stern.

A resident of Abbey Park for nearly 10 years, Phyllis was an avid bridge player, opera lover, movie night host, social media wizard and the biggest cheerleader for her entire family. She attended Antioch College and graduated from Ohio State University. She was a guidance counselor in Westerville, Ohio for more than 15 years. Her work as a drug and alcohol counselor impacted so many young people and their families.

We were thrilled to celebrate her 100th birthday with a weekend full of family and friends, culminating in a total eclipse! How perfect that her birthday landed on the date of the eclipse- an event almost as rare as she was. Mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt, friend, whatever you call her, she was our matriarch, our rock and will be sorely missed.

No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut at www.biact.org.
