Patricia Marie Wright


Patricia Marie Wright, age 58, of Southgate, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, surrounded by her daughter and her family.

Born on March 3, 1968, in Trenton, Michigan, Patty was raised in Romulus, Michigan. She graduated from Romulus Senior High School with the Class of 1986.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, She worked for General Motors starting at the Toledo Transmission Plant  and continuing as a skilled forklift operator at the Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Her strong work ethic and commanding presence left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with.

Patty was a proud American who loved her country. She cherished time with family and friends, and as always ready with her drink and her two-step that brought smiles and laughter to those around her. An accomplished marksman and devoted animal lover, she was known for her straightforward nature and her unwillingness to tolerate any nonsense. Above all, she was a fierce protector of those she loved.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Kenneth Franklin Wright and the late Patricia Diane Wright (McFarland).

Patty is survived by her daughter, Diane Coon (Timothy Coon), and her grandchildren, Patricia Coon and Nathaniel Coon. She is also survived by her sisters, Bonnie Wright and Carla Marcott (Scott Marcott), along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

A private final goodbye ceremony will be held at the Detroit Cremation Society in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Patty will be cremated following the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation in Patty’s memory.

Patty’s vibrant spirit, love of life, and unforgettable dance moves will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
