Norman James Young was born on May 30, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Evelyn (Goodman) Young. Norm worked in skilled trades his entire life obtaining a Master Plumbing and Master Builder’s License. Starting out working for Pete’s Plumbing, Norm then opened his own company, Davison Plumbing, which he ran successfully for 19 years, after closing Davison Plumbing, he went on to work for AC Delco Spark Plug, retiring as a Pipe Fitter. Although Norm was prideful in his capabilities as a man of the trades, he was most proud of his family. Norm married the love of his life; Carol, on May 26, 1962, at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio, Michigan. Together they took various trips. Their most prized trip together consisted of spending 6 weeks traveling out west in their motorhome, in which they visited all of the national parks, and may have taken a few detours to some casinos. He enjoyed his house in Florida, where he would spend his time renovating, and watching the animals roam around in the swamp behind the house. Norm was a loving person that would give you the shirt off of his back. He will forever be missed.

Surviving Norm are his beloved wife; Carol Young, his son; Barry Young, his daughter; Toni Young, two grandsons; Zachary and Nicholas Young,  two sisters; Sue, and husband, Jesse Couch, and Dianna Parks-Smeby, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Danny Young, three sisters; Darlene Spencer, Jean Sprague, and Yvonne Young.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Heart to Heart Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Norm during his final days.
