Mark Robert Forster


Age 64, of Holly, passed away on November 13, 2023. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Mark’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Mark Robert Forster was born on May 29, 1959, in Plymouth, Michigan, the Son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Bonnie (Schad) Forster.  He passed away on November 13, 2023.  Mark spent the majority of his life in Atlanta, Michigan in his home on Clear Lake.  He graduated from Atlanta High School in 1977 and attended Alpena Community College for two years obtaining his Associate Degree.  Mark went on to Central Michigan University where he received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Computer Science.  He worked 27 years with EDS (Electronic Data Services). As a programmer, taking on the GM division where he oversaw various IT projects. He went on to work for Blue Cross Blue Shield a short time which led him to 5 years employment with HAP . Mark has been IT Director for Mass Transit Authority for all of Flint the past 3 years. The greatest joy of his life were his daughters Emma 16 and Sabrina 19.  He was married to his supportive wife Els Forster for 25 years.  Mark really enjoyed life, he had a passion for boating and jet skiing.  Enjoying his free time at Clear Lake, his childhood home often riding the ORV trails on his quads with his girls.  He had a 200 gallon saltwater reef tank which he spent considerable time creating with varied corals and sea life.  mark is proceeded in passing by his sister Peggy Peterson (Scott), Mother Bonnie Forster and Father Raymond Forster.  He is survived by his sister Susan (Forster) Kleintjes (Fred) daughter Kailin.  Brother Tom Heyman (Barbara Kramer) son Zachary and daughter Leah.  Brother in law Scott Peterson, daughter Chelsea and son Alex.  Mark will be remembered for his kindness and compassion for others as well as his quick witted sense of humor. He was an amazing father devoting his life to his girls.  He was taken from his family way too soon.  His celebration of life will be a private family gathering at Clear Lake this summer in accordance to his wishes.  Tributes HOSPICE OF MICHIGAN ARE WELCOME.

    Such a kind and loving Father. He was the best brother I could ever ask for. His presence will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

    I am very sad finding this news. I did not receive his text afyer couple days and I had a bad feeling about it. Mark, you left us too soon. We all love you.
