Marilyn Nadine Battles was born on February 14, 1947, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay and Dixie (Jones) Casey. Marilyn was by definition a wonderful soul to be around. A caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and so much more. Throughout life Marilyn really knew how to hold family and friends accountable and to cherish the little things. She never held grudges and always saw the best in people. Among her pleasant and infectious personality, she was an inspiring cook, she always knew how to make or bake anything. She would take the time to honestly break down and teach someone how to do anything, if they were willing to listen. Along with cooking, Marilyn had a desire to craft from crochet, cross stitching, sewing and quilting. She would share stories of repairing and replacing broken or torn clothes and making it work. She really knew how to do it all. Marilyn was a tested mother having raised many children including 5 of her own. Marilyn was a courier of faith. She had an unbroken bond with her lord and savior and no matter how hard a situation was she left it up to god to guide her way.

Marilyn is survived by her children; Melissa (Charles) Christensen, James Battles, Richard (Trudy) Battles, Jeffrey (Stacey) Battles, and Hope Peters. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband James Battles, her parents Jay and Dixie Casey, her siblings Otis Dale Casey, Jay Casey, and Pasty Abby and son James Battles Jr.
