Lynda Ann Nave


Lynda Ann Nave, 81, of Davison MI, and formerly of Chrisman, Ill., passed away 6:15 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, in Paris. Lynda loved serving others and never encountered a stray animal that she did not assist.

Lynda was born December 3, 1941, in Paris, IL, the daughter of the late Mora Wayne and Laura Ruth (Sensenbrenner) Ballard. Lynda was employed by the United States Postal Service in Chrisman for 30 years, where she started as a clerk and advanced to become the Chrisman Postmaster.  Lynda served on the Chrisman School Board and was active volunteering in the community delivering Peace Meals and working with the Salvation Army Christmas gift program.  

Lynda married Larry Nave, her high school sweetheart, on June 18, 1960, in Chrisman. She is survived by her son Greg Nave and wife Krisie of Davison, Mich., her daughter Vicki Nave of Converse, Texas; her grandchildren, Karli Nave of London, Ontario; Jacob (McKenzie) Nave of Grand Ledge, MI Matthew Costello of Converse, TX; and Eric Nave of Converse, TX. She was preceded in death by her brothers Marvin Ballard and John Ballard.  

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. CDT Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, in Chrisman, with the Rev. Bill Duke officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery, Chrisman. 

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Peace Meal Senior Nutrition Project at SBL Peace Meal, 694 Castle Drive Charleston, IL 61920. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Lynda’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

    Our deepest sympathy with the passing of Lynda Ann. I have many found memories of our growing up years, and family gatherings, I will miss her, she was a beautiful lady.
