Lois E. Hickey, age 94, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away on December 26, 2023. Memories may be shared with the family on Lois’ Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com

Lois E. Hickey was born on September 14, 1929, in Royal Oak, MI, the daughter of Herman Felax and Viola (Elowsky) Felax. She married John J. Hickey on August 29, 1959. They remained married until he died June 24, 2000.

In 2013, she committed to her partner Alan K. Rice, M. D.

Lois worked for many years in retail sales and management, at a time when women did not ordinarily hold positions in management. She attended Flint Junior College (now Mott Community College). She studied poetry, history, and loved film noir and musicals of older vintage. She loved animals, especially dogs, sparrows, and wolves.

Surviving Lois is her beloved partner, Alan, and her son Jonathan Hickey of Chicago.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband, John Hickey, her parents, and her brother, David Felax. A private ceremony will be held.
