Linda Lucille Ponn
Linda Ponn, 78, of Standish, passed away on January 15, 2024. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Linda’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com
Linda Lucille Ponn was born on October 20, 1945, in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. Ira Ponn and Mrs. Anna (Lewis) Hoppe (formerly Ponn.) She grew up in Pontiac MI and graduated from Pontiac Central High. Linda married Pete Schneider in 1965, and together they had four daughters. They were married for 26 years living in Pontiac for four years, Clarkston MI for 12 years, and Frankenmuth for 10 years. Upon divorce, Linda moved to Saginaw MI where she met, and was engaged to the love of her life, Wally Lang. She lived in Saginaw for several years until recently moving to Standish.
Linda loved the ocean and being outdoors. She enjoyed boating, mud bogging, golfing, painting nature scenes, spending time with family, and most of all, road trips with family. She was fortunate to travel to many countries and all over the continental US.
Surviving Linda are her four daughters. Wendy Schneider, Kristi (Mike) Twork, Trina (Tim) Ott, Jennifer (Kevin) Allen, grandchildren Amanda (Joe) Winiarski, Kali (Matt) Hartman, Emily (Justin) Sleight, Raena (fiancé Kenny) Twork, Hannah (Taylor) Kratochvil, Melanie (James) Krebs, PJ Twork, Jenna Allen and Alaena Antal, four great grandchildren, Layla, Scarlett, Margaret and Jax, her sisters Barbara Rolph, Betty Pocs, and special niece Lynn Anne (Terry) Dortch. Linda also leaves a surviving niece, nephew, and great nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her father Ira, her mom Frances, nephew Tim, and her late fiance Wallace Lang.
A celebration of Linda’s life will take place in the Spring, 2024. Memorial donations may be made to St Jude’s Hospital, a charity Linda held close to her heart.
