As a former BS Mechanical Engineering student who had the honor of being guided and instructed by Dr Laura Lucas. I was touched by understanding, accommodation and encouragement. Thank you for being a not only a woman in STEM but a girls-girl in STEM you encouraged me: when I was retaking courses, or otherwise overwhelmed. Hearing your passion and love for your children changed how I plan to show up as a parent. Thank you for making me the engineer I am and most importantly someone who cares first. Rest in power Dr. Lucas.
