Jonathan Balmer Skibo


Jon Skibo, age 57, of Waterford, Michigan passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Jonathan’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Jonathan Balmer Skibo was born on January 11, 1969, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley and Sondra (Balmer) Skibo. He was very active in sports at Brandon High School, especially football. Jon attended Michigan State University where he was part of the football team from 1987 – 1989. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

Jon remained a lifelong fan of football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed travel, days home with his family, and golfing with friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife Susan Skibo, his daughter Erin Skibo, his mother Sondra Skibo, his brother, Jeremy Skibo and several nieces and nephews.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Skibo.

    I’m sorry to hear about this. The Skibos were my neighbors across the street growing up in Ortonville. I remember Jon was always a kind light hearted person who loved football (Steelers/MSU) and playing dungeons and dragons. Jon had many friends. His family will be in my prayers.
