James “Jim” Francis Kozik was born on July 5, 1944 in Pennsylvania, the son of Mr. Joseph Kozik and Mrs. Nellie (Horvath) Fuller. Jim was a loving and supportive husband to Toni (Suardini) for 54 years. Toni survives Jim along with his daughter Jennifer (Kozik); his pride and joy. Jim was also a proud Papa to Julia (Kozik), his only grandchild, who he loved with all his heart.
For those that knew Jim, the essence of his being was his heart, his love of family, friends and of life. For 30 years the family resided in Woodhaven where many friends and memories were made on Maywood. Jim was a fun-loving, outgoing and all around great man who never met a stranger. He was loved by all and a proud American who loved his country.
Jim had a successful career at Chrysler Corporation for 37 years. He was proud of the many accomplishments and colleagues he met along the way. A highlight of Jim’s career was his time spent in Brazil with Toni, developing an engine plant as part of a joint venture. He was a great inventor and could fix anything.
In his retirement, winters were spent in Florida with Toni and all of their friends. Jim was an avid golfer and he truly loved the sport. He cherished his time on golf courses across the country. Jim and Toni traveled the world and cherished the memories with family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory, along with his wife, daughter and granddaughter, are his sister Kathy (David) LaPorte, his sister Joann (DiMatteo), his sister-in-laws Adele and Sandy Suardini, and many other family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Nellie. His brother Joseph, his second father Thomas Fuller, and many other close cousins, extended family and friends.
The family wishes to thank its many friends over the years for their time, their emotional support, their laughter and most of all for their love of Jim.
