James E. Bland Jr.
October 7, 1961 – October 7, 2026
James E. Bland Jr., known as Jim, Jimbo, Bones, or Bobo, passed away on October 7, 2026, in Flint, Michigan, on his 65th birthday.
Jim was a hardworking man who worked throughout his life and continued working until he simply couldn’t anymore. He spent many years working alongside his son, family, and friends at Flint Wood. Hard work was a part of who Jim was, but so was his ability to make people laugh and enjoy the moment.
Jim was known for his kind heart, hard work, and his ability to be the life of the party. He had a way of bringing fun wherever he went and leaving people with stories and memories they wouldn’t soon forget.
Jim enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved fishing, golfing, dancing, and spending time outdoors. And, of course, he was always happy to relax with a cold Budweiser in hand. Whether he was enjoying time with family and friends, casting a line, hitting the golf course, or simply having a good time, Jim knew how to enjoy life.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Kelly Hazel (Jason); his son, Bradley Bland(Nicole); his mother, Judy Bland; his sister, Dorothy Rogers; his brothers: Ralph Bland and Bill Bland; and his grandchildren: Matthew, Logan, and Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his father, brother-in-law ,grandparents, and aunts and uncles.
Jim leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, hard work, and stories that will continue to be shared by the people who knew and loved him. He will be remembered not only for the work he did, but for the kindness he showed, the fun he brought, and the lives he touched along the way.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Christian Apostolic Center, 6350 Fenton Rd, Flint, MI 48507.
Until we meet again, Jimbo. Keep the beer cold, the fishing line tight, and the dance floor ready.
Jim’s obituary was written by his loving family.
