Jake Franklin Pridemore

Jake Franklin Pridemore, age 36 of Clarkston, Michigan, gained his wings on August 16, 2023. He was born in Fort Myers, Florida on October 11, 1986 to Frank Pridemore and Brenda (Smith) DeLeon. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, friend, and father. In accordance to family wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Jake’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Jake was a free spirit who thrived on helping anyone in need; it didn’t matter what the needs were, he was ready to help. He often referred to himself as “the fixer upper.” He had a zest for life; he loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, cracking jokes, creating smiles, and most of all he loved his children with all his heart. Though he couldn’t see them, there was never a minute of the day he didn’t miss and think of them.

He leaves to cherish many heartfelt memories by his parents; Roque and Brenda De Leon, Frank Pridemore, his sister; Krystal, his brothers; Tom and Dylan (Tiffany), his children; Robert, Eugene Pridemore, Paul Franklin Mancour, Airianna Faith Pridemore, and Serenity Joy Pridemore, his grandmothers; Sandy Smith and Judy Pridemore, his nephews; Alan and Jonathan LaCroix, his niece; Nova Pridemore, as well as several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his hero and grandpa; Robert Smith, his grandpa Clarence Pridemore, as well as several great uncles and aunts.

Jake’s obituary was written by his loving family.

A beuutifully written tribute to Jake!

Jake was someome you’d meet and know you’d never meet anyome else like him. He was one of a kind in a world full of copycats. Jake was no copycat. There isn’t any replacing him… only appreciating him fir the time he was here. I appreciated his help, his sense of humor, and his intensity. He left us too soon for us, but the people in Heaven will never have any reason to be bored. They have an entertainee for eternity.

Jake.. your one of my oldest friends of 23 years. I’m filled with memories growing up with you. Hanging out everyday for years.. it’s hard to think of a memory that doesn’t invovle you. The last couple years we would talk every morning dropping the kids off at the bus stop… I loved you like a brother man. Their was never a time you wouldn’t be willing to lend a hand. You where a amazing friend, and I’m glad I got to know you homie, and spend all the time I did with you. We had so many laughs together. I’m missing you already and I know a day won’t go by we’re something won’t remind me of you. May you rest easy now, and may we meet again one day.

“They will see us waving from such great heights
    Come down now, they’ll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
Come down now but we’ll stay”

Jake was a huge presence in my adolescent life. We spent many hours discussing music, comedy, and dreams for when we were older. I believe he had the courage to live out many of those dreams during his time.

I will always remember him as the life of the party. As a person who says growth comes at the end of your comfort zone. And I’ll never forget cutting his hair in my living room and it possibly being the worst haircut he ever received but him saying, “it looks great!” A good heart, a lost soul.

I know he will be missed by those who loved him most. Sending all my love to the Pridemore family.
