Irene Anne Inglis

Irene “Renie-Beanie” Anne Inglis peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family in Fenton, MI on June 27, 2026 at the age of 96. She was born on September 28, 1929 in Detroit, MI to the late Roy Czarnecki & Josephine Siano. Irene was the treasured wife to her late husband James “Frankie” Inglis; beloved mom to her late daughter Jody Lynn and late son Roy and daughters Julie, Jody, and Nancy; was the adoring Grannie to her grandson Albert and deeply attached mini wire-haired dachshunds BoDee, Cricket, Junebug, and her Taya. She was the dear sister to Joyce and Thomas and the late Jeanette, Helen, and John. Cherished friend and pen pal to many, with her beautiful cursive handwriting.

Irene grew up in the heart of metro Detroit. She raised a family with her husband in the house they built in South Lyon, MI, prior to settling down to live with her devoted daughter Julie, who was her loyal companion and caretaker for many priceless years. She enjoyed time at home where she could have close one-on-one visits to catch up with friends and family, watch her favorite tv shows ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’, ‘American Idol’, ‘Grace & Frankie’, and her ultimate soap opera ‘General Hospital’. She loved observing and identifying wild birds from her prime seat at the kitchen table where she could watch them take baths and eat at the feeders through her whimsical window – if you visited with her, you know this spot. It’s where countless hours of conversations about life occurred and where she never failed to ask as soon as you sat down “How are you?” or “How was your day?” – she was a great listener and incredibly generous.

“Renie” was an incredibly talented watercolor painter and a voracious reader of books from the Heartland Library, mystery novels being her most enjoyed. Some of her favorite authors included: Baldacci, Grisham, Evanovich. She loved game nights playing 5 crowns with family while listening to a wide variety of music – some of her favorite artists being Willy Nelson, Rod Stewart, Bob Seger, and Bruce Springsteen. Her favorite things to eat were bear claw desserts, pickles, any kind of potato dish, licorice, and other vintage candies. She always looked forward to outings at Uncle Ray’s in Fenton, MI and was able to go just last week where she relished some freshly scooped strawberry ice cream. Her ventures both short-and-quick and far away took her to countless dog shows in and out-of-state where she could avidly people-watch and Hawaii held a special piece of her heart.

She was a very grounded person and took life as it came with unwavering resilience. Her spirited nature was highly revered by all and contributed to a life well-lived. She was cherished by all who knew her and will forever be in our hearts.

“Missing someone is sadness wrapped in the blessing of having known and loved them”

In memory of Irene, we plan to plant a daisy garden in her daughter, Julie’s yard, Irene loved daisies and would’ve loved for you all to plant them and think of her. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local shelter.

Irene’s obituary was written by her loving family.
