Erich Frank Hahne

Erich Frank Hahne passed away at the age of 59 on June 6, 2024, at his home in Grand Blanc, Michigan surrounded by those he loved after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Erich’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Erich was born on January 4, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan, to Dr. Otto H. Hahne and Rosella Julian. He graduated from The Roeper School in 1983 and studied briefly at Michigan State University. Erich enjoyed anything involving the outdoors such as hunting and spending time in the U.P. at his favorite place in the forest, “The Murf”. He loved working with his hands and showed his creativity and precision through everything did, but especially woodworking, antler craftsmanship, and remodeling homes for some very special people including his own home. He loved being a father and was a devoted husband. Erich was a creative, genuine, heroic, tough, and loyal man of the highest integrity and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Erich is survived by his beloved wife Connie, his treasured children Ian and Erika, Stepsons Paul, Jake, and Jesse. Grandsons Jaxon and Roman. Brothers Otto & wife Jerrianne, Steven & wife Sarah. Several nieces, nephews and extended family. As well as his precious puppies Dude & Olive and grand puppy Lily.

Special thank you to Keith and Christine Scalzo.

Erich is preceded in death by his dear Father and Mother.

A celebration honoring Erich’s beautiful life will take place on July 21st, 2024 at The River Rock Bar & Grill 15100 Dixie Hwy, Holly, MI 48442 3pm – 7pm.

My fond memory is from our Roeper days. We were both avid roller skaters and I will always remember our debates about whether speed or artistic was the better or more difficult sport. We would compare notes about the different rinks we had skated at.
Erich was always fun to be around and I will miss his updates. My sincere condolences to the entire family. It was evident in his posts how proud he was of each one of you and how deeply you are loved. May that love and your memories comfort you in the days ahead.
