Edwin Poteat “Pete” Black, Jr.


Edwin Poteat “Pete” Black, Jr of Burton, Michigan formerly of Hendersonville, NC joined our Heavenly Father on May 25, 2026
He was born July 24, 1964 to the late Edwin Poteat Black, Sr. and the late Betty Jo (nee Gosnell) Moody Black in Greer, SC

He is survived by his fiance Colette Metcalf of Burton MI, brothers Harry “Randy” Moody and David Moody both of Hendersonville, NC, grandchildren, a great grandson, nieces and nephews.

Cremation to take place in Michigan. There will be a Celebration of Life in Hendersonville, NC on Saturday, June 6, 2026 1pm at Hugh Thomas’ home 112 Wren Street, Hendersonville, NC.

    Pete was my ex brother in law(David Moodys ex wife). However he was always my brother in heart. We had some hard times but I always loved him. Rest in peace Pete. Love you always.
