Dorothy Peterson, 89, passed away peacefully November 8, 2022. She was born on January 24, 1933, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Andrew and Mattie Brown.

Surviving Dorothy are her brothers: Carl (Clara) Brown, Isaac (Raquill) Brown, and Abdullah Hasan (fondly known as “Raymond”), stepdaughter, Christine Hanse, as well as three generations of many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Chris, Willie, John, Andrew, Charlie, Robert, and O.C., and spouses: O.C. Griffin, Mr. Smalley, and Robert Peterson.

Dorothy was known by everyone for her vibrant, outgoing personality. She enjoyed a clerical career as an administrative assistant in several offices of local government. Dorothy had a quick wit, always eager to ask probing questions prompted by her constantly curious nature. She had a passion for antiques, Beanie Babies, travel, and physical fitness. She also enjoyed baking; casseroles were her specialty. Dorothy perfected the art of making peanut brittle and generously shared her craft many years ago with her family during candy-making parties. Dorothy was an avid reader of many subjects, collecting hundreds of books over the years. And with a passion for the paranormal, there was rarely a dull minute during conversations with her!

Dorothy will forever be loved and cherished by her family.
