Deborah Nan Maloney


Age 70, of Holland, Michigan, passed away on March 2, 2021, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Deborah’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Deborah Nan Maloney was born on December 21, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd and Rita (Kameg) Maloney. Sister of Bradley Maloney.

Deb began her career as a teacher in the East Detroit Public School District and then spent many years providing free income tax assistance through Ottawa County Community Action Agency. She had so much empathy and was always willing to go above and beyond to help others.

The biggest joy in Deb’s life were her two grandchildren, Brendan and Reilly. She never missed a game, school event or dance recital. They meant the world to her and she showed that every day through her love and support. Deb enjoyed watching sports and would loudly cheer whether she was in the stands or watching a game on tv. She will always be remembered for her huge heart, love and fun personality.

Deb is survived by her daughter; Hillary (Chris) Gelineau, her grandchildren; Brendan and Reilly Niesz, her brother; Brad Maloney, her sister-in-law; Barbara (Kellock) Smith, her niece’s and nephew; Laurie Smith, Rebecca (David) Zbiegien and Ed (Patty) Smith.

Deb is preceded in death by her parents; Lloyd and Rita Maloney and her former husband; Andrew Kellock.
