David Aaron Worthing
David Aaron Worthing, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Clio, Michigan, on September 26, 2024. Born on May 25, 1948, in Flint, MI, David was the beloved son of the late Norma Jean Worthing and Walter Gordon Worthing.
David was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kathleen, who stood by his side through all of life’s journeys. Together, they built a strong and close-knit family, including their children: David (Laura) Worthing, Shelly (Mark) Diener , and Thomas (Andrea) Worthing. David was the grandpa to Arika, Dawson, Calvin, Andrew (Haliegh), Lexi, Thomas, and Laila from David and Laura; Lleyton, Logan, and Mallary from Shelly and Mark; and Jackson and Brayden from Thomas and Andrea. He was also the great-grandpa to Emmersyn and Briella from Andrew and Haleigh. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, David is also survived by his siblings, Nancy Slaght, Jack Worthing, Larry Worthing, his brother-in-laws, his sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom shared countless memories with him over the years. His family brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
David spent 38 years working as a dedicated plumber pipefitter, a proud member of Local 370 in Flint, MI for 53 years. His work ethic was unmatched, and he made many dear friends during his career.
Beyond his professional life, David was a man of many passions and hobbies. He had a love for snowmobiling, motorcycling, farming, camping—adventures that often involved his family and friends. He also had a deep affection for animals, particularly his dogs, who were constant companions throughout his life. One of David’s signature pastimes was making delicious popcorn for friends and family during visits, holidays, and special events—a simple yet heartfelt way of bringing people together. Known for his spitfire personality and great sense of humor, David always knew how to bring laughter to those around him. His love for his family and his unwavering dedication to them was evident in all that he did.
David was also committed to giving back to his community. He was passionate about helping at the Church of God Camp in Charlevoix, MI, where he spent many summers lending a hand, making memories, and spreading his kindness to all who knew him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heart To Heart Hospice and caretakers Chelsea and Mickey, for their compassion and dedication in providing care during David’s final months.
David will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit, strength, and humor will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Dave was the best brother in law I could have asked for and he will be missed immensely. My prayers and hugs go out to my beautiful sister, Kathy, and her precious children and grand children. I love you all so very much!! REST IN PEACE Dave until we meet again in heaven!!
Dave was always good to me thru the yesteryears, when building the snowmobiles trailers, etc, and going snowmobiling, Sand lake up north! He built a lot of things with big Norm! He was never ever mean to me! He was an awesome man! Thank You Lord for putting him in my life! Love you Dave🙏❤️👵🏻🙏
May he rest in peace, and may all who loved him have peace knowing that he is. My heartfelt condolences
I didn’t know Dave (my brother-in-law) that well because I live in Texas. However, we were together many times when I went to Michigan. He always was kind to me and I considered him as a good friend. I wish I could have got to know him better and is a reminder that life is short and only regret that I didn’t. May God comfort Kathy and family and may they live to exemplify his legacy.
