Dale Wayne Marr
November 22, 1948 – November 1, 2025
Dale Wayne Marr was born on November 22, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Leland and Madolyn (Mead) Marr. At the age of 76, Dale passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at Spring Meadows Country Club, 1129 Ripley Road, Linden, Michigan. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Dale’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dale Marr’s name to the Linden Fire Association for the Lift Assist Service. Donations will be collected at the celebration of life or can be mailed to 132 East Broad St. Linden, MI 48451.
Dale met the love of his life, Sue, in high school, and the two were married on December 14, 1968—celebrating nearly 57 wonderful years together.
He attended Flint Southwestern High School, graduating in 1966, and went on to Flint Junior College, where he played golf on a scholarship for two years before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
A natural athlete, Dale participated in many sports, including golf, basketball, football, swimming, and shot put. He loved the outdoors—spending countless hours hunting and fishing on trips to Canada, northern Michigan, and Alaska. He was also an avid skier who enjoyed frequent trips up north and out west, even honeymooning in Colorado.
Dale began his career at Genesee Bank as a Purchasing Agent before joining his father in founding Marr Printing Company in 1980 in Grand Blanc. He owned and operated the business until his retirement in 2002. Never one to slow down, Dale went on to establish Michigan Photo ID, providing services for schools and hospitals, which he continued until just a few years ago.
A longtime member of Warwick Hills Country Club in Grand Blanc, Dale and Sue raised their family there while building lasting friendships. Most recently, he was an active member at Spring Meadows Country Club, where he continued to enjoy golf and time with family and friends.
Dale also earned his private pilot’s license and owned three airplanes throughout his life, taking great joy in flying whenever he could.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sue; his daughters, Wendy (Matt) Shaker and Lindsey (Geoff) Beiser; his four cherished grandchildren — Kaleigh and MJ Shaker, and Elle and Gehrig Beiser.
Spending time with his grandchildren brought Dale great joy. He loved watching them play their sports and celebrating their accomplishments. And when he wasn’t cheering for his grandkids, he could often be found heckling the refs, always making sure they knew when they missed a call.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Madolyn Marr, and his brother, Dick Marr.

Praying for peace and comfort you and your family!
Sue, I am sending all my love and prayers for peace to you and your family at this time of remembrance. Our family will always remember Dale as a great person. So much great times together we had and so many memories we made over the last 58 years, it went by so quickly, but the friendship was always there. I will always remember the many golf tournaments in those early days and the weekend trips we had together up north when we were so young. I had forgot that Dale and I both the share same birthday. Vic always remembered him with a smile and talked about all those annual golfing trips they took together, especially those at Galloway Gardens. At Vic’s memorial in 2024 I spoke to Dale at length and I was able to pass on their rotating golf trophy to him. I would like to think they are all once again as I fondly remember them; Vic, Ken, Roger, Tommy, and Dale, together on that final green somewhere discussing their last game.
My prayers for the family and all his friends. I went to school with Dale, what a great guy. He is in the arms of Jesus ❤️✝️
I just learned of Dale’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Sue and the family. May the memories that you have had over the years help to heal your heart. I will remember so many wonderful times at Spring Meadows with Dale and Sue. Rest in peace Dale.
Sue, I am just seeing to this. My sincere condolences to you and your family. 🙏🙏🙏
