Dale Elmer Norrington
Dale Elmer Norrington was born on February 16, 1962, in Flint, MI, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer and Bonita (Schultz) Norrington. Dale was the youngest of three boys, Darwin (Marann) & Dean (Kim) Norrington. Dale attended Redeemer Lutheran for elementary school, followed by McKinley Middle School, and graduated in 1980 from Flint Southwestern High School. He also attended Baker College of Flint and Mott Community College, where he studied Drafting and Computer classes. Dale married the love of his life on May 24, 1986 in God’s presence at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Flint. He worked for 18 years at Venture in Grand Blanc where he also played on a softball league. He then worked 11 years at Machine Tool & Gear in Corunna, Michigan. While being laid off from Covid in 2020, he was at home cleaning the gutters, where he fell 6 feet off an aluminum ladder and broke his back. At this time, Dale and family received confirmation of two different cancer diagnoses, Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis.
Dale loved spending time in the beautiful Mackinaw City where he walked 5 miles during his cancer treatments. He loved fishing, building model train set towns, puzzles, and most importantly he loved bowling. He spent most of his life bowling in leagues and tournaments all over the United States where he obtained several 300 (12 consecutive strikes) and 800 (three-game total, averaging 267+) games with close friends. He also loved having several fish tanks throughout his home filled with his favorite tropical fish. Dale is currently a faithful member at Lamb of God Lutheran Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Lori Norrington; his three daughters: Ashley (Paul) Beasinger, Aimee (Jacob Jobe) Rodabaugh, and Allison (Ryan) Wells; his 10 grandchildren: Damien, Jordan, Zachary, Aaliyah, Mariyah, Austin, Hunter, Evelyn, River, and Raine.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Bonita Norrington; his in-laws: Robert and Vivian Thacker; sister-in-law, Diane Nelson; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Lawrence.
Dale’s obituary was written by his loving family.
