Age 74, of Prudenville, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

Charles was born on May 3, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and
Irene (Bommarito) Hoetger. He was known as Chuck, honey, dad, pops, grandpa, papa Chuck,
Uncle Chuck, Chuckie boy and to many he was known as a friend.

Charles graduated from Waterford High School and after graduating he entered the Navy serving from 1968 – 1972 on the USS Austin LPD4 assigned to the V-1 Division, company 552 and received an Honorable discharge.

After the service, he joined the Pontiac Fire Department and rose through the ranks to lieutenant serving from 1977 to 1987. After his years of service, Charles moved to Houghton
Lake where he enjoyed his time building houses and spent countless hours enjoying his passion
for woodwork. Chuck also loved golf and spent many years traveling south with the guys and in
recent years enjoyed local golf at Tamarack. Charles married his wife Margie in 1994 and
celebrated their 30 th anniversary this past December.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Margie L. Hoetger, his mother Irene M. Hoetger, his
daughter Michelle M. Zell (Michael), Theresa A. Hoetger (Chad Rivera), Andrea J. Palmer
(Mark), Tim Howey (Lisa Tucci), his sister Ruth Dillard and brother Ric Hoetger. Charles has 9
grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, Charles was preceded in death by his father Charles
and his grandparents Jack and Loretta Bommarito.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. No service will be held at this time.
There will be a Celebration of Life on May 3, 2025. Family will release details at a later time.
