Bonnie Lee Stewart

Bonnie Lee Stewart, age 83, of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 5:43 p.m., with family by her side. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Bonnie was born on September 20, 1942, in Clinton, Iowa. Arriving two months premature, she fought for her life from the very beginning — a fight that defined the strength and determination she carried with her ever since. In the indomitable spirit of Bonnie, here is her life, in no particular order.

She graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1961 and continued her education in bookkeeping and accounting. Over the years she worked at Wheelock Hospital, Symington and Associates, and later All Account Services, where she formed lasting friendships. Her sharp mind, strong work ethic, and no-nonsense approach earned both respect and trust, and her skills helped support her family.

Bonnie lived guided by what she believed was right. She liked her coffee light — and plentiful. She spoke her mind, stood her ground, and loved fiercely. She was strong beyond measure and was a woman best described as indestructible and unapologetically honest. One of her favorite sayings, “It never hurts to ask…,” reflected her practical wisdom and her willingness to pursue life directly and without hesitation.

She invested in her children, by taking them to libraries, museums, and anywhere else she could dream up. She sewed clothes when they were young and later created quilts and curtains. A Virgo and a perfectionist, she built sandboxes, made stilts, planted flowers for joy, and painted beautiful ceramics. She loved romance novels, mysteries, and the Bible. She had triumphs and regrets, friends and pets, and a lifelong passion for clothing and how it fit — and she wouldn’t hesitate to tell you if it didn’t fit right… or if she didn’t like it.

Time around a table with family and friends meant something to Bonnie. She enjoyed cards, dominoes, and especially euchre. She spent many quiet hours working on jigsaw puzzles. A devoted member of New Life Community Lutheran, her faith guided her throughout her life. Her Bible study group and church family were an essential part of who she was.

She always voted, loved her ball games, and never missed a Super Bowl. She would be especially pleased to know Verlander is back with the Tigers.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, David Stewart; her son, William (B.J.) Hunt; her stepdaughter, Angela (Angie) Stewart; and her sister, Dolores Wright.

She leaves behind her children, April (Raleigh) Beringer and Eric (Yun) Hunt; her stepchildren, David (Kathy) Stewart and Becky Stewart; several grand children and great grand children; and her dear friends Barb and Judi.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Bonnie’s life on Sunday, March 1, at an open house between 12pm and 5pm at her home. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and share in honoring her memory.

Bonnie’s obituary was written by her loving family.
