Bonifacio Medrano Jr.


Age 63, of Flint, passed away on August 10, 2022, at Hurley Medical Center. Family will be present to receive family and friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Detroit Cremation Society, 8253 S. Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, Michigan. In accordance with Bonifacio’s wishes, cremation will take place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Bonifacio’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Bonifacio “Barney” Medrano Jr. was born on July 27, 1959, in Lapeer Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bonifacio Sr. and Erlinda Medrano. Barney was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend to many. He loved spending time with his family and friends; who he affectionately referred to as his “dogs.” Barney took great pride in his lawn and enjoyed mowing his grass on his tractor with his daughter, Amy, his son, Matthew, and good friend, Spider. He loved giving his grandchildren rides on his tractor and taking unexpected fishing trips with his son, Aaron, and grandson, Paul, and many others as well.

Surviving Barney is his loving wife, Deborah Medrano of Flint; children, Melissa Medrano of Mt.Pleasant, Aaron (Ann) Medrano of Flint, Nicole Medrano of Flint, Amy Detty of Flint, and Ashely Sanchez of Flint, parents; Bonifacio Sr. and Erlinda Medrano of Durand; siblings, Rosa (Mike) Gonyea of Columbiaville, Angel Medrano of Mt. Morris, Janet Medrano-Trimue of Mt. Morris, Gilbert Medrano of Mt. Morris, Raquel (Scott) Turpin of Byron, Benjamin (Mindy) Medrano of Lansing, and Olivia (Buddy) Farrar of Tennessee; grandchildren, Savanna Williamson, Joy, Jordan, Jazlyn, Joshua, Alejandro, and Dustin Medrano, Detty, Miguel, Emilio, Marrissia, Mona, Wyatt, Kade, and Rowdie Medrano, Alicia O’Neill, Matthew, Antonio, Isaiah, and Jacob Medrano, Paul, Marie, and Aleah Drinkwine, Adrianna Esperanze, Sean, Alexis, Abbey, and Erin Medrano and many more family members and friends

Barney was preceded in death by his two sons; Johnny Cooper, and Matthew Medrano; granddaughter, Raxzan Medrano; grandparents, Medrano Garza; brother, Alejandro Medrano; sister, Margaret Medrano; two nieces, Stephanie (Boys) Hershman, and Amber Medrano, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
