Age 47, of Genesee, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Andrew’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Andrew Doyle McQueen was born on September 20, 1978, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Barbara (Riggs) McQueen. Andy was raised alongside his older sister, Liberty. He went on to meet the love of his life, Dawn, in 1997. They married in 2003 and raised two daughters and a son together. His hardworking nature led him through multiple jobs and volunteer opportunities, with his most recent position at Stone Specialists, a job he truly loved.

Andy was known for his sense of humor and his willingness to help others. He enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, and found great joy in being with his family. He could often be found cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events or searching for great deals at yard sales with his youngest daughter. While he was often reluctant to welcome another pet into the family, he never hesitated to care for them, and looked forward to coming home to his dogs at the end of the day.

Andy is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn Adkins-McQueen; his daughters, Brice McQueen and Tabitha (Michael) Shumaker; his three grandchildren, Reagan, Avery, and Riley; his parents, Tom and Barbara McQueen; his mother in-law Beth Brancheau; his sister, Liberty Shelby; his nephews and niece; and many dear cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kyle; and his father in-law Gary Adkins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at North End Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Andy’s family.

Andy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
