Andres R. Valdez
Andres R. Valdez, lovingly known by many as Andy and Chito age 92 of Grand Blanc, Michigan passed away on July 6, 2026 surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Andres was born on January 23, 1934 to the late Andres and Beatriz Valdez in San Antonio, Texas. Andres lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to God. Andres was known for his warmth, generosity and determination.
Andres first job was with Coca-Cola in Texas and later moved to Michigan to start a new career with General Motors, where he worked faithfully for over 30 yrs until retirement. After retirement he stopped wearing a watch- proudly saying he no longer needed to be anyplace at any specific time. He could simply relax, enjoy life and savor every moment with his beloved wife of over 70 years Juanita “Janie”. Together they built a beautiful life and raised 8 children. His family was his greatest joy and cherished every moment spent with them. Andres enjoyed traveling with Juanita, visiting casinos, building things, and spending time with his family.
Andres had a great spirit and steady presence that made everyone around him feel cared for and welcomed. His life was a testament to Love, Faith, and Dedication. His memory will continue to live in the hearts of all who loved him.
Andres is survived by children, Bea Ellis, Esther Valdez, Cande (Dave) Valdez, Christina (Bob) Conn, Miguel (Crystal) Valdez and Terri Valdez, along with many grand children and Great Grandchildren.
Andres is preceded in death by his loving wife-Janie, sister-Josie Arriaga, sister in law- Isabel Buentello, sons- Bruno and Andy, daughter- Teresa Magee and son in laws Rod Ellis and Kenn Magee.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2316 Coldwater Rd. Flint, Michigan 48505. Family will be present to receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am.
