Thomas Carl Diehl

Thomas Carl Diehl passed away peacefully at home January 2, 2026 with his family by his side. Thomas was born June 18, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Harold and Nellie Diehl. He grew up in Davison, Michigan. Thomas served in the United States Army in Germany. He met his wife Ann Marie (Illig) when he returned from the service. They married August 11, 1962. Thomas worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He and Ann are long time resident of Lapeer, Michigan where they raised four children; Michael (Robin) Diehl of Grand Blanc, MI, Deborah (Scott) Main of Pigeon, MI, Judy (predeceased: Larry) Hutcheson of Grand Blanc, MI, Daniel (Janice) Diehl of Falmouth, MI. Thomas has three grandchildren; Douglas Grover, Gloria Diehl, Thomas Diehl. Tom enjoyed biking, skiing, tinkering, woodworking, yard work, and gardening with his wife, and tractors (particularly John Deere). Most of all he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Tom’s sense of humor was undoubtedly one of his best attributes. He loved to laugh and joke with those around him. Most of all his unconditional love and dedication to his family made him an incredible husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, sister, and son-in-law.
