Randall Martin Bachman was born on October 6, 1971, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth and Dorothy (Kelly) Bachman. Randall graduated from Carman Ainsworth High School in 1989. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1991-1995. He trained at Fort Benning, GA where he successfully completed his Airborne Training and was assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment. He was transferred to the 2nd Ranger Battalion at Ft, Lewis, WA from 1992-93. His final assignment was at Ft. Polk, LA with the 509th Infantry Regiment, where he served from 1993-95. In this unit, he served as the Opposing Forces (OPFOR) at the U.S. Army’s Joint Readiness Training Center. He really enjoyed showcasing his skills to show new recruits just what they would be going up against in the field, and was awarded several accommodations for his achievements. He was Honorably Discharged in 1995.
In 2009, Randall married Melissa Miller, and together they raised her two sons, Jacob and Brenden. The two were together for a total of 18 years, and in that time they shared many adventures and made many happy memories, from camping trips to even raising chickens and turkeys. In his professional life, Randall was an exemplary employee at Comcast for 17 years, and he was highly respected by his coworkers, many of whom he considered his closest friends.
Randall loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Crow’s Nest Deer Camp, with his father. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and cooking, and Randall was the kind of man you were lucky to befriend. He was loyal and dependable, and equally as quick with a joke as a helping hand. Though he had a tough exterior, he was also gentle, compassionate, and very sentimental. His friend Nick said it best, “he was not just a good man, he was a GREAT man.”
Surviving Randall are his parents, Kenneth and Therese Bachman; sister, Kennedy Bachman; former wife, Melissa Miller; stepsons, Jacob McConiha and Brenden (Marina) McConiha; and grandchildren, Brayden, Raelynne and Montana.
Randall is preceded in death by his mother; Dorothy Kelly.

Randall my friend of 17 years. Gonna miss all those times You, Nick and I had fishing on Bennett Lake slaying those Pike. The times we spent up north at my place in Kalkaska. Fishing your pond and watching ERNIE go crazy when we had a fish on the line. I will miss many things but your laugh and sense of humor were second to none. You had a such big heart and were always giving. Until we meet again my friend. Love ya man!!!!
