Nancy Jane Cowens was born on November 12, 1933, in New London, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew and Rozine Thompson. Heeding the call to serve her country, Nancy proudly enlisted in the United States Navy from September 9, 1952, until her honorable discharge on January 22, 1954.

Surviving Nancy is her daughter; Nancy Lynn Cowens.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents.
