Michael Theodore “Ted” Sanzone


Age 78, of Flint, passed away on September 11, 2023. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Michael’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.

Michael Theodore Sanzone (Ted) was born on December 13, 1944, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, son of the late John and Jane (Prichard) Sanzone. Ted was a 1963 graduate of St. Michael’s Catholic School. He was in the U.S.M.C. Reserves. Ted married his wife Cece in Petosky, Michigan in 1989, where they started their family. Ted was a butcher by trade and in sales most of his life. He loved the game of golf and enjoyed his Tuesday league and his once a month breakfast get togethers with his buddies.

Michael is survived by his son; Anthony Sanzone, six grandchildren; Brittany, Andy, Trey, Kevin, Mariah and Kieran, his sister; Julia (Sanzone) Skonezney, as well as many special nieces, nephews, and so many wonderful friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his beloved wife; Cece Sanzone, his parents; John and Jane (Prichard) Sanzone, his sister; Priscella Caruso, his brother; John Sanzone, and his stepdaughter; Tammy Gaery.

At Ted’s request there is no funeral service. The family will have a “Celebration of Life” at a later date.

    Uncle Ted. You have always been a special man in my life, and I thank you so much for that. and the things you have done for me i am so grateful for you♥️ Oh I wish I could of heard your voice one more time saying “ahh shut up Nik” or “I love you Kid” or “get me ice cream and pie” that was the most used line with me. I love you and I’m happy you are not In pain or stress any more.

    “Long live Playland!” Amongst other friends, Playland was a haven for Ted and me when growing up. We never lost that connection of having fun. Miss you and love you, Teddy.

    Teddy you are so LOVED and MISSED by Slug and I..You don’t even know it but you helped us get our little Kassidy from the Humane Society and we thank you for it from the bottom of our hearts.
