Michael Shubow
Michael Shubow, beloved son of David and Marion Shubow, brother of Sari Shubow Solden (Dean), and uncle to Evan Katz and Daria Moore (Steven), died peacefully in his sleep at Vibrant Life Senior Living, Durand, Michigan, surrounded by his family and many loving caregivers on January 25, 2025 after a brief illness.
He was a long-time resident of Stinson Beach, where he lived most of his adult life, and leaves behind many beloved friends.
Michael was born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 9th , 1943. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan and attended Mumford High School, The University of Michigan, and Wayne Law School, where he graduated first in his class.
He worked for Honigman and Miller Law Firm in Detroit, Michigan, before moving to Telluride, Colorado with his wife at the time, Linda Grekin. He then moved to Stinson Beach in the late 1970’s and lived there until 2017.
Michael was an iconoclastic individual; brilliant, and eccentric. He loved deeply and was loved by all those around him. He was an avid chess player, artist, and runner, where he loved to run the Dipsea Trail and Race. He also could be frequently seen playing speed chess with the locals at the Mill Valley Depot.
