Mary Elizabeth Liljeblad
Age 97, of Flint, Michigan, passed away peacefully, without pain on Saturday, January 13, 2024. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, at Detroit Cremation Society, 8253 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Mary Elizabeth Raymond was born on September 28, 1926, Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Elmer and Margaret (MacIvor) Raymond. Her family moved to Royal Oak, MI where she graduated from Royal Oak High School, she attended Michigan State College where she met George Liljeblad in 1946. They married in 1947 and moved to Flint in 1950. Mary graduated from Flint Junior College, as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1960. She worked in doctors offices in Flint until she retired at age 73.
Mary and George spent many weekends and vacations at their home in Leland, MI where they enjoyed boating on Lake Leelanau, and spending time with family and friends. They also enjoyed many decades of MSU Spartan football and basketball games which included tailgating with friends and family.
Surviving Mary are; son Brian (Denise Davidek), daughter Peggy Liljeblad, grandsons Ian and Brice and great grandson Kedree George Liljeblad, sister in law, Ulla Liljeblad and nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband George of 68 years, her parents, brothers and sister, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
