Mary Elizabeth Fix
With heavy hearts and endless love, we share the passing of our beloved momma, Mary Elizabeth Fix, who left this world surrounded by the love she gave so freely to others.
Mary was, above all else, a devoted mother and an extraordinary grandmother—our “Gaga.” Her love for her family was fierce, steady, and unconditional. She helped raise her grandchildren, filling their days with laughter, comfort, and a sense of home that only she could create. Being their Gaga was one of her greatest joys.
Mary had a simple and beautiful way of living. She loved reading, cooking, and sitting outside in the summertime, enjoying the quiet and the sunshine. She found happiness in the little things—watching her grandkids play, sharing stories, and making everyday moments feel special. She loved country music and classic rock, the kind of songs that stay with you.
She worked as a school lunch aide, where she cared for others in the same gentle, giving way she did at home, making sure people were fed, cared for, and looked after.
Mary is survived by her loving children, David Dobson (Danielle Conaway), Sabrina Fix (CJ Turnblom), and Crystal Fix (David McGarvey); her cherished grandchildren, Cory, Karson, Journey, Gabby, Kaylin, Avery, Autumn, Kinsley, and Kalvarie; her brothers, Mark Reed, Guy Reed, Paul Reed, and George Dobson Jr.; and the many honorary children she lovingly took in as her own, friends of her children who became family and were loved just the same.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George, Donna, and Veronica, and her sister, Linda Cobb.
To know Mary was to be loved by her. She showed up. She listened. She gave. And she made people feel safe, seen, and important.
In her final act of love and generosity, Mary wanted to give the gift of life, continuing to help others even as she said goodbye. That was who she was—selfless, strong, and full of heart.
She will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever a part of us.
