He was a graduate of Walkerville High School in Walkerville, Michigan. From there he joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for four years. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Air Force, Larry spent the vast majority of his working career with Sealed Power/SPX Corporation.

In 1966 Larry met his future wife, Norma Crain. They were married on November 11, 1967 and went on to have two children, Christina Hills (Christopher) and Shelbie Bronzetti (Christopher). They were married for almost 56 years.

In 2009 Larry retired and spent much of his free time working in his yards in Cape Coral and in Michigan. He loved traveling with Norma and their children and families. He was a longtime member of the Commander’s Club of Michigan, where he made many lifelong friends. Larry loved Michigan football and was a season-ticket holder for nearly 30 years.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, 13 brothers and sisters and his beloved daughter Shelbie. He is survived by his wife Norma, daughter Christina, sons-in- law Christopher Hills and Christopher Bronzetti, grandchildren Sofia and Ava Bronzetti and Mateo and Dante Hills, brother Donald Hunt (LaVeda), sister Donna Vigna (Doug) and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Metavivor Research and Support, Inc. (1783 Forest Dr., #184, Annapolis, Maryland 21401; donatemetavivor.org) to help fund research into the treatment and cure of metastatic breast cancer, which took the life of his daughter Shelbie.

Larry’s obituary was written by his loving family.

I am so sorry for the loss of Larry. He touched my heart the first time I met him and Norma. My heart is broken for the entire family.
The following is a beautiful message I recently received in the past. I hope it brings comfort to you, too.

Those we love don’t go away,
they walk beside us every day.
    Unseen, unheard, but always near,
so loved, so missed, so very dear.
