Jonathan James McGowan
Jonathan James McGowan (Jamie), age 64, of Holly MI, passed peacefully in June of 2024. Born in Detroit, MI on September 23, 1960, he was a graduate of North Farmington High School.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother, Gordon H. McGowan, Rose Marie (Nieradtka) McGowan and Gordon Scott McGowan.
Jon was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at the age of 20 and independently lived the best life possible with support from his family, friends and community. He enjoyed tinkering with his Camaro, cooking for his friends, and listening to rock and roll music.
He is survived by his sisters, Judy Dietz and Melynda Penny and brother Geoffrey McGowan, along with nieces and nephews.

I am a long time way long away, years ago member of a family that used to play with Jamie, Geoffrey, Lindy and Judy when we lived in Quaker Valley, Farmington Michigan. I am so sorry he is gone… I was only about 6- 9 yrs old when we all as kids used to play with Jamie and his siblings. I will never forget my memories playing with the McGowan family and the older girls Judie and Lindy used to babysit us. I was doing some family/friends research this week and bumped into this. My brother Daniel also has schizophrenia. He is doing well and lives in California. I have found memories of the McGowan family. I never met the parents of these kids. I wish your family blessings and take good care. I am 62 yrs old and live in Idaho now..never married. Take care, Annie Walker
