Iry Collier, Jr.
On the morning of Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the angel of silence came to Willowbrook Manor Nursing Home, Flint, Michigan and quietly took Mr. Iry Collier, Jr. to be with the Lord. He was born on January 17, 1954, in Lake City, SC to the late Mr. Iry Collier, Sr. and Mary Collier. He was the sixth of seven children; three sisters Mary McMillian, Windella Graham, and Helen Dickson preceded him in death.
Mr. Collier was educated in the public schools of Florence County, SC. He had a very pleasant personality and was always a joy to be around. He was skilled in making others laugh and smile. He was an avid fisherman and a master carpenter and painter who loved his family and friends. The simplicity of his life was reflected in his warm smile and cheerful personality. He has touched our lives, and those who knew him knew his heart was filled with love and happiness. Death cannot remove what Iry has been to us. God has merely claimed His gift of humanity. He always ended his phone call with, “In a Minute” because he might call you right back in a minute.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons and one daughter: Ira Lee (Nicole) Collier of Elida, OH, Jontae Collier of Waterford, MI, and Shayla Collier of Phoenix, AZ; one step-daughter LaFaye Bates of Flint, MI, three brothers Will (Patrice) Collier of Culpeper, VA, Nathaniel Collier of Prescott, MI, and Arthur Collier of Scranton, SC; twelve grandchildren, one great granddaughter; special friend Pat Bates of Flint, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
We, the family of Iry Collier, Jr, wish to express our appreciation for your kindness and sincere expressions of love and sympathy shown to us during the passing of our loved one. Your prayers, words of comfort, and kind personal attention to us during our time of need are greatly appreciated. It strengthens our hearts to know that others share our love. We are eternally grateful. God Bless You. ~The Family

So much can be said about my dad…a man who tried to make people around him laugh, couldn’t sing a lick but always tried to. I’ll miss you Dad, I’ll keep your spirit alive for sure…I’m a splitting image of you I keep hearing. As you always said…In a minute!
My dear brother, I’m going to miss our phone calls and crazy conversations. The times we laughed and seemed like we were in the same room together.
