Gloria “Glo” Jean Peters

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Gloria “Glo” Jean Peters, who succumbed to Alzheimer’s disease on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on April 1, 1955, in Edmore, Michigan, Glo was one of five children born to Vergil and Bonnie Peters. She graduated from Lakeville High School in 1975.

Preceding Glo in death were her parents, Vergil (67 in 1988) and Bonnie Peters (57 in 1987), and her younger sister, Betty Peters (18 in 1978). All are laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lapeer, Michigan.

Glo leaves behind her three children: Amanda Peters, 47 (Curtis Mitchell, 56) of Burton, MI; Bonnie Guilfoil (44) of Flint, MI; and Kevin Peters (48)(Harly Londak, 30) of Luzerne, MI.

Glo also leaves behind her siblings: Howard Peters (Valerie Peters and family), Linda Evitts (Jimmie Evitts and family), and Kenneth Peters (Debra Peters and family), who will cherish her memory.

Glo will additionally be missed and remembered by her many nieces and nephews including her niece, Verda Wiggins, who had a very special relationship with her “Aunt Gloria”.

Glo brought joy to everyone she met, brightening lives with her infectious giggle and warm smile. Her passions included swimming, cooking, and savoring cheeseburgers and Pepsi. A lover of classic country music—especially the tunes of Conway Twitty,, Loretta Lynn, and Patsy Cline. Glo’s love for fancy hats was legendary; she wore them proudly, showcasing her bubbly personality wherever she went.

Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2020, Glo faced her journey with extraordinary strength, finding light and blessings in each day while sharing her peace and joy with all who knew her. Even as her memories faded, her true essence remained vibrant, touching countless lives.

To honor Glo’s spirit, we invite family and friends to a “Celebration of Life” on Saturday, August 23, 15, from 12-3 pm at Richfield Road United Brethren Church, 6259 Richfield Rd, Flint, MI 48506.
