Donald Lee McKay
Age 88, of Davison, passed away on February 27, 2023. To honor his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Donald’s Tribute Wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
Donald Lee McKay was born on May 29, 1934, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis and Margaret (Landro) McKay. Donald graduated from Dye High School in 1952. He pursued many careers throughout his life, including Creekwood Dairy Farms, Kitchen Queen, and General Motors. Donald retired after 41 years as a Quality Control Inspector in 1993.
Donald is survived by his son; Dennis R. McKay, his two daughters; Diana L. McKay and Malinda M. (Jim) Neeley, his daughter-in-law; Lori McKay, his step-daughter; Carla (Robert) Gruszkowski, his sister; Pamela Hobson, his grandchildren; Donald L. (Shere) McKay III, Sean McKay, Kyle Horton, and Megan Horton, his great-grandchildren; Donald L. McKay IV, Sydney, Mason, Axel, Quinton, Gadge, Katrina, and Anna Leise McKay, his step-grandchildren; Misty Gruszkowski, Lance Neeley, Robert Neeley, Katrina Hayes, Kevin Hayes, and Caitlyn Stepp, his nephew; Josh, and his two nieces; Alicia and Mandy.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife; Karen McKay, his son; Donald L. McKay Jr., his stepson; James Hayes, and his two sisters; Shirley and Bonnie.
Don was devoted to and very proud of his family. He was also a classic car enthusiast and owned and drove many of them over his lifetime. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and cards, a good game of pool, and watching sports. He also had many friends who along with his family will miss him dearly.
There will be a Celebration of Life announced at a later date.
