Cheryl Lynn Drake
Age 68, of Flint, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held on July 26, 2025, at 12:00pm at Flint First Weslyean Church, 3825 Davison Rd, Flint, Michigan 48506. Pastor Chad Amoss and Pastor Dennis Rouse to officiate. Family will be present to receive friends from 10:00am until the time of the service at 12:00pm. Memorial Contributions may be made out to Flint First Weslyean Church. Any memories and remarks may be emailed to Pastor Chad Amoss at; chad@flintfirst.org, as he will be reading the remarks for all at the service. Cheryl Lynn Drake was born on July 13, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin and Onalee (Scharrer) Thayer. Cheryl attended Genesee High School. Cheryl was married to Robert LaLonde from 1972 to 1985. Cheryl then married Daniel Drake in 1998 to present. She is a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She had a passion for animals, crafts, gardening, textiles, and fashion.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Daniel Drake, daughters Toni Lawrence and Michelle LaLonde, grand children Jared & Jaden Lawrence and Chase Ugo, sisters Christine Hammersley and Lorie Morse, and many other cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother and father Irvin and Onalee Thayer, grandmother Geraldine Stranahan (Scharrer), brother John Thayer, sister Jeannie Mecum, and son Michael LaLonde.
